I have just started using the Auto Text Shortcuts feature, and it works great! Such a time-saver! There is a problem, though:
Some of the auto-text in my .txt file is a bit long (over 300 characters), and the one I use most (that also most commonly causes issues) is 131 characters. Occasionally, after I have entered an auto-text shortcut into the chat window, it breaks the word wrap. The message sends and usually wraps correctly (sometimes it creates line breaks in odd places), but the next long message I send that is hand-typed (not a canned response or another auto-text) scrolls off the screen, causing a scroll bar to appear at the bottom. Sometimes the customer on the other end of the chat says that the message was cut off after about 40-50 characters or so.
I know I should be using Canned Responses for long auto-text, but I am not an admin and it is unlikely the admins will add the text I am using as we are encouraged to personalize our chats.
My questions:
- What is causing the word wrap issues, and how can I avoid it?
- Can this bug be fixed?
- If this cannot be fixed, what is the maximum character limit for automatic text replacements?
